An Idea
There's not too much to say about this track, except that it is mostly
experimental. The track was actually completed in 1994, but some of
the ideas in it were written in early 1993 when I was still in high school
jazz band. We played a few rock and latin tunes during those years,
so you could say the influence for this track stemmed from that.
Technically, this is one of my earlier attempts to layer instruments in
order to create a "more than 4 channels" sound.
The trumpet chords were made by loading the trumpet instrument from
Deluxe Music into MED and using it to play a "chord track" which
was recorded to an audio cassette. The audio cassette was sampled
back into MED and each chord was cropped out and looped manually.
This same technique was used to create the mixed bass & piano
instrument.
It was alot of work, but it was an effective way to thicken the sound
of a 4 channel MOD.
