Shards of Atonement
This is an experimental track, mostly. While I was working at the
radio station, I found some unlabeled CDs full of dance music. I had sampled
some drumbeats from a few of these songs, and I wanted to try them out.
I worked with 'unconventional' harmonies (compared to my usual style)
to create something that sounds somewhat pensive and apprehensive, which is
how I was feeling at the time.
There's also a bit of an influence from "Crystal Orbit" by Vogue, which
was the opening track for Triton's first "Crystal Dreams" demo.
This track might have been a candidate for a WesTower demo, if there had
ever been one.
